If you've moved before, you've experienced the difficulty of finding a good and reputable moving company that offers a decent price. Unpakt can alleviate your frustration by comparing various companies and pricing out their services specifically for your move.

Add Any Shortcut To My Computer With This Simple Tweak

If you want a few more options for getting around in My Computer (or just "Computer" as its known in Windows 7 and beyond), you can add anything to this page by placing shortcuts in a little-known folder.

Depending on what version of Windows you're running, this folder may be in a different place, but here's the quickest way to get there:

1. Press Win+R to bring up the "Run" dialog box.
2. Enter "%appdata%" (no quotes).
3. Navigate to \Microsoft\Windows\Network Shortcuts.
4. Put anything you'd like in this folder.

You can place app shortcuts, links to folders, or even networked locations in here and they'll all show up when you click "Computer," under the Network Location subheading.

A pair of binder clips is all you need to keep tall boots from bending at the ankle and folding in half. Whether you just want to save a little space storing your boots or you just don't like the idea of a permanent crease at the base because the top flopped over, this trick will net you both benefits.

Just use a binder clip or two at the top of your boots to keep the pair together and upright. This keeps them from flopping over, and limits them to the floor space required for their actual footprint. If you use really strong binder clips, you can even hang your boots this way (although that'll put some stress on where the boots are connected by the clip). It's a simple, space-saving solution, especially if you still want to use them and aren't ready to box them up and put them in the closet for the season.

Swiss researchers found that when we are on the cusp of falling asleep, our body redirects blood flow to our hands and feet. Imagine Yourself as the Audience's Equal to Speak More Confidently

Whether you're addressing a huge auditorium or just speaking up in a meeting, most of us are at least a little uncomfortable with public speaking. If you need a quick confidence boost, just imagine yourself as the audience's equal.

Geoffrey James at Inc. shares this tip:

If you're speaking with a CEO, imagine yourself as a CEO. If you're speaking to engineers, imagine yourself as an engineer. Find and focus on the commonalities between yourself and your audience. If you're not a supplicant you won't sound like one.

This is all about confidence. We're more comfortable talking to our friends than we are to CEOs. You can't pretend to know anything about engineering if you're talking to engineers, but you can put yourself in a frame of mind where they are peers or friends, not "different." Even if it's all in your head, it should help you talk to your audience more comfortably, as friends, rather than speaker to listener.

Get Around Quora's Content Restrictions With This Quick URL Hack

Quora is a question-and-answer site with a lot of great content—and one small catch. In order to read all of the answers in a thread, you have to register, or else you can only read the first.

However, the folks at NirmalTV have a browser hack that you can use to get around the restriction in seconds if signing up is something you don't want to do. Just add this tag to the end of the Quora thread's URL:

The best part about this trick is that it works for the entirety of your browser session. So as long as you don't close out your browser, you'll be able to browse Quora as much as you want without having to append the tag every time.

The Hidden Way to Zoom in Closer in Google Maps

Google Maps lets you zoom in pretty close for its mapped locations, but there's a secret way you might be able to zoom in even closer. Here's how.

Reddit user xythrowawayy revealed this trick when debunking another Redditor's claim of a murder happening near his house:

Start by going to somewhere on Google Maps, say, http://goo.gl/maps/t4sph

Zoom in as far as it will let you by clicking on the "+" sign at the top of the magnification slider at the top left of the map.

When you're in as far as you can go (heh) but not all the way to street view (if the location you're looking at even has street view), look over at the white space just to the top left of the map....where the little printer and chain link buttons are.

Click on the chain "link" button. That will show you a box with a long URL to the map you are looking at and another box with some HTML code to embed. Ignore the HTML code.

Copy the long URL and paste it into your browser's address bar, but don't hit enter to go to that URL yet. Instead, click to edit it and scroll all the way to the right. It should end with something like "&z=22". Change the 22 to 23 ("&z=23") and hit enter. If Google Maps has imagery at that higher zoom level, it will show it to you.

I tried it with both the faux murder scene (which turns out to be two people with a wet dog) and the Empire State Building, and it works, much like other Google URL tweaks. It doesn't work for all locations, however. Your best bet is major cities. Xythrowawayy says you can view some high-res images for them not available to you by default.

Shoot Stable Smartphone Video with a Mason Jar

There are a few different ways to mount your smartphone to a tripod, but they won't do you any good if you don't own a tripod in the first place. If you need some stable video in a pinch, just reach for a mason jar and some elastic bands.

Trevor at Five Gallon Ideas shares this janky-but-useful setup. He suggests tying two elastic hair ties to opposite ends of a thick rubber band. You can stretch the hair ties around the top and bottom of a mason jar, and then use the rubber band to hold the phone in place. Once it's secure, just set the jar down and hit record. Unfortunately, this solution won't let you easily adjust the angle of the phone up or down, but you could wedge a piece of cork or some folded up paper between the screen and the jar to tilt the camera slightly.

Of course, if you do have a tripod handy, you might be better off using a car mount or binder clip to attach your phone for some more filming flexibility.
